The music department at Jacobs High School is constantly growing and evolving to meet the needs and talents of our students. Within our curriculum, we offer 3 concert bands, 2 jazz bands, 2 percussion ensembles, 3 orchestras, 5 choral ensembles, and Advanced Placement Music Theory. Around 350 students are currently involved in one or more music classes, with many students participating in multiple areas. In addition to the curricular ensembles, there are 3 vocal jazz ensembles, a winter color guard, and the department annually presents a spring musical. Jacobs students are also heavily involved in outside orchestras, bands, choirs, and district events such as the D300, Fox Valley, and Illinois Music Educators Honor Festivals.
